House sitting

My parents have been vacationing in Mexico for the past 3 1/2 weeks so Ismael and I have been taking care of their house. My father a nature loving type of guy is always adding new types of flowers to his yard. My mother a plant lover takes care of the garden by watering and cleaning up the yard. So my job has been to make sure none of the plants die under my care. It seems like a simple job, just water the plants and they'll live. Well let me show you what the yard looks like.
The Palm tree that sticks up tall was planted by my dad at least 20 yrs ago when it was about 4" tall.

It takes me about 2 hours to finish watering the plants and that is with the help of the sprinkler system that waters the grass automatically 3x/week.

Here are some pictures of some flowers that color my parents yard:

Compared to my dad's fishes and my mothers birds I am doing an excellent job at keeping the yard green. Unfortunately I have lost (they died) one white dove and my mom's favorite cockatoo :( and my dad's koi fish are swimming in green water. I am planning that by the end of whis week the fish will be swimming in clear water but I feel bad for the birds.

My parents LOVE their yard and I love it too, I just do not like the duties that come with keeping up with the yard. I keep the plants an flowers in my house to a minimal compared to my parents :) and I am re-thinking the having our own pets idea.

Happy Birthday Fabiola!

Today we celebrated our God daughters 3rd birthday. It was a small celebration compared to other birthdays but it was still fun. The cousins enjoyed playing out in the yard while the grown ups spent time joking around. Grandma, Grandpa and her older brother missed the celebration as they are on vacation in Mexico but she did get her birthday call earlier today from them and Grandma left her gift for me to give to her.

Just a few pics from her birthday get together.

Coldplay Concert 7.14.08

It's a monday and my wife and I are getting ready to go to the Coldplay concert at the Forum and we were excited to go see them live after a long time of waiting. Chely on a previous blog wrote that she was going to drag me to the Coldplay concert just like I dragged her to the Pearl Jam concert. Personally I was stocked about it. So we get the forum and buy our food and drinks anxiously waiting for Coldplay to hit the stage. The concert is kicked off with a D.J playing techno/jungle/beats with a large screen displaying animations that were skinned to the music. I guess it was alright. The second act was pretty cool, they kinda sounded like R.E.M with the voice of Pink Floyd's David Gilmore; they were done around 8:20pm. Finally after a long 1 hour wait which by the way felt like the longest 1 hour ever; the lights turn off and the crowd goes nuts over the back round music that's slowing getting louder and louder and you start to see the band members on stage playing the first song of the night. Here's a brief video of Chely rocking out to Viva La Vida...

We're really looking forward to another Coldplay concert; next up is Jack Johnson in San Diego. Maybe this one might be the concert Chely is dragging me too... haha... I mean, I do like some of his songs but I just can't see myself jumping up the boogie to Jack Johnson. Here's another video. I found these links on you tube of the concert (not taken by us , but it was the same concert we attended)boo! http://youtube.com/watch?v=X3ad_ZvM2to & http://youtube.com/watch?v=1HzA-B_9stA

I just had to......

One more time, I know I said it before but this time is for real. After I did it I started to notice how long hair can be beautiful and fun again. Do not get me wrong I like my short cut but I am finally going to let it grow out. In the mean time I will have fun with my short hair.

I'm so Excited!!! part 2

Well this month it has been a roller coaster of emotions for me, where one day I'm feeling happy and the next I'm feeling like crap and somedays just wanting to cry and quit my job.

Just a few weeks I was thrilled to have gotten tickets to see coldplay at the Forum in Inglewood. Just thinking about it and listening to their song on the radio gets me cheerful and excited.

Just last week I received my results from an exam that I am starting to detest and because of it liking my job has taken a different meaning. I did not pass by 6 miserable points. So frustrating, upsetting, hurtful, and everything else that is not happy. I've had the crappiest week at work and I do not remember ever feeling that way before. This time it hit me hard to the point of thinking that maybe I should change careers. Who knows maybe its a sign??? But after hard thinking and talking to close friends and family I will keep trying. Arizona is my destination in November where I will pass this stupid exam (sorry but thats the way I feel about it).

And on another happier note...... :D Jack Johnson!!!! Yup I will be going to see him in August at Chula Vista. It will be a weekend away from home with my hubby, he will feel like I felt the day he dragged me to see Pearl Jam.... ha!

So two upcoming concerts make me feel a little great. I can't wait Whooo Hoooooo!!!!

Happy Birthday Juan Pedro!

Aka John Peter our Godson, had his 4th birthday today and we all went to El Dorado Park to celebrate. It was so much fun that everyone of every age enjoyed it. There was food, pinata, candy, cake and of course games. I forgot how fun outings at the park can be where you see nature's beauty and where the kids really enjoy running around in an open space. Here are a few pics of the day.
